A stunning hand-forged recreational and hunting knife featuring top grade Japanese VG-10/67-layer Damascus Steel with a locally sourced walnut handle. Walnut used for the beautiful handle was harvested and processed from Salisbury, IL by local craftsman David Ingram. This limited edition fixed-blade knife is extremely sharp with a premium hardness rating of 60 HRC. Included is a hand stitched veg-tanned Argentine leather sheath.

History Behind The Salisbury Collection
The beautiful walnut handle was harvested and processed from local craftsman David Ingram of Salisbury, Illinois. Salisbury is located 12 miles northwest of Springfield, 8 miles south of New Salem and only a couple miles from the infamous Sangamo Town settlement. Sangamo Town is the settlement where Abraham Lincoln built his flatboat in 1831 before navigating down to New Orleans.

The source of the walnut comes from an area that was very familiar to Lincoln. Salisbury is on the “Lincoln Trail” that Young Abe used to travel between Springfield and New Salem. It is inspiring to imagine that Lincoln might have fished and hunted with his friend Jack Kelso or courted his first love Ann Rutledge in the same region used to source this walnut. Although we cannot directly claim the relationship between the wood and Lincoln, we can use this inspiration to follow in Lincoln’s adventurous spirit.

Salisbury is truly a hidden secret with beautiful Midwestern scenery from the rivers and hills to some of the most fertile land in the world. Brian Su’s country ranch in rural Salisbury brought the Sangamon team there and it will forever impact their lives. Special thanks to our colleague Mark Bennett for his advisory during the design and research process.

Care Instructions
-Clean your knife after each use with warm soapy water. It is important to especially clean the knife after cutting any acidic foods such as lemons, limes, tomatoes, etc.
-Do not ever leave your knife in soaking water.
-Keep the knife as dry as possible to preserve the integrity of the walnut.
-Safely sharpen your knife. A dull knife is more dangerous than a sharp knife.  
-We recommend you store the knife outside the leather sheath if storing away for a long time.

International Shipping
We do not ship knife orders to international destinations. 

Shipping: All watches, leather goods and knives ship free within the United States, typically via UPS Express. International shipping is a flat rate of $24.99 and most likely shipped via DHL. All items in stock are expected to ship within 4 business days after the date of the order. Express shipping typically takes 2-6 days for US destinations. We typically provide an upgrade to priority shipping for all watches within the USA to ensure quick deliver. Returns: We offer 100% satisfaction guarantee on all orders up to 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. 

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment. All accepted returns will be issued 100% refund, minus shipping costs and a 5% re-stocking fee. We reserve all rights on whether to accept returned products. Contact us immediately if you would like a return at sales@sangamonwatches.com. 

Exchanges: For an exchanges of our other watches, we will send customer another watch after we have received your original product. We must first accept original product before we can exchange for another watch. We will charge a 5% restocking fee on exchanges plus shipping costs. Shipping costs are non-refundable. We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If your watch is damaged upon receiving, please contact us within 3 days and we will send you a prepaid shipping label immediately for an exchange of product. There is no restocking fee on defective or damaged products. We strive to have premier customer service. Other items such as leather goods and knives come with a 1 year warranty. The warranty provides coverage in case of manufacturing defects. The warranty does not cover average wear and tear, damage due to water, scratches and loss or theft. Customers should avoid interaction with water as much as possible since water damage is not covered under the manufacturer's warranty. Any outside work performed on a Sangamon watch may lead to a null and void manufacturer's warranty.
