TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR SANGAMON WATCH COMPANY REPAIRS

At Sangamon Watch Company, we are committed to providing high-quality watch repair services. Below are the terms and conditions that apply to all watch repairs conducted by our team.

Repair Process and Authorization

We will begin the repair process once we receive your authorization. Once the repair has started, you cannot decline or cancel the repair.

We invest time and effort into sourcing parts to restore your watch, and we will attempt to contact you several times to arrange payment for the repair. We will reach out to you via phone, email, and, if necessary, by mailing a letter to the address you have provided.

Abandoned Watches and Non-Payment

If we do not receive payment or hear from you for 12 months, Sangamon Watch Company reserves the right to forfeit the watch and use it for parts to recover our time and expenses. We are not liable for watches left for more than one year.

If you choose not to proceed with repairs and do not pay for return delivery, we will store your unrepaired watch for no longer than one (1) year in case you change your mind about the repair or return shipment.

Estimates and Additional Issues

Estimates provided over the phone or via email are subject to change after a physical examination of the watch. Certain components or issues may not be apparent until we inspect the watch in person.

Occasionally, after beginning a repair, additional problems may arise or become evident. In such cases, we will pause the repair and provide you with an updated estimate.

Shipping and Liability

You are responsible for the watch's condition and safety during shipping to Sangamon Watch Company. Once we receive the watch, we assume responsibility for it. If the item is lost or damaged during shipping, it is the sender's responsibility to have proper documentation to file a claim with the shipping company.

Shipping insurance does not cover sentimental value. Insurance covers only the replacement value of the watch and is limited to its true value, not any other figures you may input.

Payment and Refund Policy

Payment can be made via credit card, PayPal, check, or money order once the repair is complete. Once you approve the repair work, you have entered into a legally binding contract to proceed with the repair.

Refunds are only available if Sangamon Watch Company is unable to complete the repair under the warranty. For any warranty support, free warranty repairs will be conducted as per our warranty policy.

Repair Feasibility

Sangamon Watch Company does not guarantee that all watches can be repaired. We will assess your watch to determine:

  1. Whether the repair can be successfully completed; and
  2. How much the repair will cost.

In some cases, the repair cost may exceed the value of the watch. If we cannot repair the watch due to a lack of available parts or necessary labor, you agree to cover the cost of the return delivery.

Timeliness and External Repairs

While we provide general time estimates, we cannot guarantee specific timeframes due to the complexity of sourcing parts from various suppliers. Sangamon Watch Company is not responsible for delays caused by suppliers or manufacturers.

If we are unable to complete the repair in-house, we may request your permission to send the watch to the factory or manufacturer for further evaluation. Additional fees may apply for shipping, and Sangamon Watch Company is not responsible for any failure, damage, or issues that occur while the watch is at the factory. At that point, the factory's terms and conditions would supersede our own.

Liability for Uncollected Watches

Sangamon Watch Company is not responsible for watches left for over 180 days after the completion of the job. After 180 days, items may be sold for parts to recover costs.

Resealing and Pressure Testing

While we do our best to reseal and pressure test watches, Sangamon Watch Company is not liable for any water damage or other issues that occur after resealing. There are many variables beyond our control that can affect the integrity of the reseal.

Liability for Shipping and Delivery Issues

Sangamon Watch Company is not responsible for the following:

  • Watches sent to incorrect addresses provided by the customer.
  • Failed deliveries where the recipient was not present at the time of delivery.
  • Delivery delays due to issues with the shipping carrier (UPS, FedEx, USPS, etc.).

By proceeding with any repair through Sangamon Watch Company, you agree to the terms and conditions outlined above. If you have any questions, please contact us before authorizing your repair.
